Senior Teams Return to Action

CF Benidorm return to action this weekend after a frustrating week of waiting. The highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash against CD Olímpic de Xàtiva was postponed when the FFCV suspended all matches last Sunday because of the red weather warning.

The disruption also affected the senior women’s team, whose season opener against At. Sant Joan CD was postponed for the same reason.

After a week requiring patience, CF Benidorm’s men travel to Alberic on Saturday. You can read our match preview here. The women’s first team, meanwhile, will begin their season at home to CF Inprosports S. Vicente.

Deadline Set for Rearranged Fixtures

So, when will the postponed matches be played?

The FFCV has confirmed that the men’s fixture must take place no later than Thursday 19 November. The two clubs have until 9am on Monday 26 October to agree a new date and kick-off time. If they fail to reach an agreement by the deadline, the FFCV will decide when the match will be played.

Further details will follow once the rearranged date and kick-off time have been confirmed.

Santa Pola Fixture Remains Uncertain

There is also uncertainty surrounding the arrangements for the upcoming fixture against Santa Pola.

It was previously reported that the match would take place in Villajoyosa because of the annual reseeding work at the Estadio Municipal Guillermo Amor. However, that arrangement is now in doubt owing to circumstances beyond the club’s control.

No further details are available at this stage, and supporters should be aware that the venue and/or date could change. CF Benidorm UK will publish an update as soon as official information becomes available, with an announcement also expected through the club’s official channels.

Other CF Benidorm sides will also be representing the club this weekend.

• The women’s youth team play their second match of the season away to At. Sant Joan CD on Saturday, with kick-off at 12.15pm local time.
