CF Benidorm’s First Away Test Confirmed

CF Benidorm’s first away fixture of the season has now been confirmed, with a change to the originally scheduled kick-off time.

The game was initially set to kick off at 11:00am local time. However, a decision was made overnight to move the fixture to 5:00pm local time, meaning a 4:00pm kick-off for supporters watching from the UK.

The match will take place on Sunday 13 September at the Estadio Antonio Solana, situated on the outskirts of Alicante. The stadium is home to both CFI Alicante and CF Intercity, and has a capacity of around 2,500 spectators.

The ground was built in 1979, officially opening on 12 April 1979, and will now provide the setting for CF Benidorm’s first away test of the new campaign.

Benidorm will be looking to make it two wins from two and follow up their impressive 2-1 victory over CD Jávea in their opening fixture.

For CFI Alicante, however, the opening weekend brought a different result. They suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat away to Alberic, meaning they will be determined to bounce back on home soil.

That sets up an intriguing second-round fixture, with both sides having plenty to play for.

Benidorm will be hoping to carry the momentum from their opening-day victory into their first away game of the campaign and return from Alicante with another three points.
