CF Benidorm return to the Guillermo Amor Municipal Stadium on Sunday as they welcome CD Almoradí for their fifth league fixture of the 2026/27 season.
The match kicks off at 12:00 local time, with UK supporters able to follow the action from 11:00am. Benidorm head into the fixture in excellent form, having won all four of their opening league matches and remaining unbeaten so far this season.
The latest of those victories came away from home against UD Rayo Ibense, with Benidorm once again coming away with all three points to maintain their 100% record. Four games into the campaign, Sergio Mora’s side have collected maximum points and have already established themselves as one of the early teams to watch in the Lliga Comunitat.
Benidorm have scored seven goals across those opening four matches. While that figure demonstrates that the team has consistently found ways to win games, there are currently only two sides who have scored more goals than Benidorm, with Jávea and Gandia leading the way. Alberic and Xàtiva have also scored seven, meaning Benidorm’s attacking numbers currently sit alongside two of the other sides competing towards the top of the table.
However, while the attacking numbers are encouraging, there is also an area where Benidorm will know they can improve as the season develops.
The team have kept just one clean sheet from their four league matches so far, conceding three goals in total. On the surface, that is something that could be improved, but there is another side to the statistic. In the three matches where Benidorm have conceded, they have only allowed one goal in each game.
That shows that although the clean sheets have not yet arrived consistently, opponents are still finding it difficult to score multiple goals against this Benidorm side.
The most recent match against Rayo Ibense provided a good example of why there is still room for improvement. Rayo had failed to score in their previous three league matches, yet after Benidorm had established a 2-0 lead, the home side managed to get themselves back into the game.
Benidorm ultimately held on to secure another important victory, but moments like that will give Sergio Mora and his coaching staff something to work on. When you are able to take a two-goal lead, being able to control the game and prevent the opposition from finding a route back into it can become increasingly important as the season progresses.
There is, of course, the old football saying that defences win titles, and while it is far too early to be talking about titles after just four matches, Benidorm will undoubtedly want to make themselves even harder to beat. They have already demonstrated that they can find the goals required to win matches, and continuing to improve defensively could make this an even more difficult side for opponents to overcome.
Standing in their way on Sunday will be a CD Almoradí side currently sitting 14th in the table on three points.
Almoradí started the season with a victory, but they have been unable to add another win since that opening-day success. Their most recent fixture saw them suffer a 3-1 home defeat against Alberic, who currently sit second in the league table.
That means Almoradí will arrive in Benidorm looking to produce a response and stop their current run without a victory. For them, Sunday’s match represents an opportunity to put another difficult result behind them and pick up a result against one of the early pace-setters.
For Benidorm, however, the objective will be to keep the momentum going.
Four wins from four has given the club the perfect start, but the challenge now is to maintain that consistency. The team have already shown their ability to win different types of games, score important goals and grind out results when necessary.
Sunday provides another opportunity to do exactly that.
With seven goals scored, just three conceded and maximum points from their opening four matches, Benidorm have plenty of reasons to be encouraged by the opening weeks of the season. The next step is to continue building on that foundation while finding further improvements along the way.
Another three points on Sunday would keep the perfect start alive and provide Benidorm with yet another boost as they continue their push towards what promises to be an increasingly competitive Lliga Comunitat campaign.
