Positive Arona Update Ahead of Novelda Unión CF Clash

There is some very positive news surrounding CF Benidorm midfielder Arona following the worrying scenes during Saturday’s 0–0 draw with Almoradí.

Arona went down in the second half following a serious-looking head injury and required lengthy treatment on the pitch. The stoppage lasted around 20 minutes, contributing to an extraordinary 22 minutes of injury time being added at the end of the match.

It was a worrying moment for everyone inside the stadium, with Arona eventually leaving the pitch and being taken away by ambulance for further medical attention.

The club later provided an update confirming that Arona was fine and remained under medical supervision.

Now, just a few days later, there is another encouraging development.

We have been informed that Arona trained today and could be in contention to return to the squad for Saturday’s trip to face Novelda Unión CF.

It is a huge boost after what was a concerning moment at the weekend, although his involvement on Saturday will ultimately depend on how he continues to recover and the decisions made by the relevant medical and coaching staff.

CF Benidorm travel to Novelda Unión CF on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 12:00pm local time (11:00am UK time).

After starting the season with four consecutive league victories before being held to a goalless draw by Almoradí, Sergio Mora’s side will be looking to return to winning ways and maintain their position at the top of the Lliga Comunitat.

But before thinking about the result, seeing Arona back in training is the biggest positive of the week.

Hopefully, we will see him back involved on Saturday.
