CF Benidorm Weekend Review: Comebacks, Dropped Points and Opening-Day Action

A round-up of the latest results across CF Benidorm’s men’s, B, women’s and youth teams.

Men’s First Team

It was another busy weekend on the pitch for CF Benidorm, with plenty of talking points across the club. We begin with the men’s first team, who earned a 1–1 draw away to Alberic on Saturday evening. You can read our full match review here.

The dropped points meant CF Benidorm surrendered top spot in the Lliga Comunitat on Sunday after CD Jávea beat Benigànim CF 2–0. Benidorm now sit second on 17 points, one behind Jávea, but they have a game in hand following the postponement of their top-of-the-table clash with CD Olímpic Xàtiva during the previous weekend’s red weather warning. Victory in that rearranged fixture would move Benidorm two points clear at the summit.

Men’s B Team

The men’s B team produced a superb comeback to defeat C.D. El Campello B 4–2 at home. Benidorm trailed by two goals at half-time, but Lewis pulled one back in the 59th minute before Valdivieso equalised in the 68th. With the match heading towards a draw, Ramírez and Ortiz both struck in the 90th minute to complete a remarkable late turnaround. The victory lifted the team to ninth in the table on seven points.

Women’s First Team and Youth Team

The women’s first team are still searching for their first win of the season. After their scheduled opener against At. Sant Joan CD was postponed last weekend, they began their campaign at home to CF Inprosports S. Vicente. Claudia Bou Ferrando scored a hat-trick as the visitors claimed a 3–0 victory.

There was better news for the women’s youth side, who won 3–2 away to At. Sant Joan C.D. ‘A’. Benidorm raced into a three-goal lead before the hosts responded late in the match.
